• SANTA CREU DE VIC
  • Founded in 1348, the Hospital de la Santa Creu de Vic is an absolute architectural compendium: it still has a Gothic nave, Renaissance façade and courtyard, and a Baroque cloister. A transformation process was initiated in 1987 to convert it into what it is today: an old people’s residence and geriatric hospital, with a section which attends the needs of the terminally ill which is a reference point for this type of care in Spain, and a day-care hospital. La Santa Creu currently has 178 beds and a staff of around 155.

Given the type of patients which it attends, climate control has always been one of the Management's chief concerns. After studying climate control systems in collaboration with the hospital and the architect, it was decided that our Serene Climate control system should be installed for both heating and air-conditioning. This climate control system allows for easy control of indoor relative humidity, while maintaining the set temperature at all times. The results show great heat efficiency, low running costs and a suitable atmosphere for a centre of this type, where the patients are particularly sensitive to changes in temperature. The installations cover more than 2,000 m2 of rooms, corridors and common rooms.
