The new offices of the Basque Government’s Department of Health, which use our Serene Climate Control system, were opened on the 1st of October 2008. The building, which has eight storeys and a four-level basement, was designed by the Coll-Barreu architecture studio. Its 8,800 m2 shall house 200 civil servants managing Vizcaya’s local health system and shall receive more than 600 people a day. The strikingly unique building consists of a polyhedron with a glazed façade.

This office building fitted with our Serene Climate Control system is and will undoubtedly remain to be a significant landmark in the world of architecture. The climate control system employed totally eliminates air recirculation in what are hermetic work spaces. It involves a sustainable-ventilation system which feeds off outdoor air through a reverse cycle. In the words of Gabriel Inclán, the Autonomous Government’s Minister of Health, on opening the building, “the façades of the building breathe, allowing for an exchange of air with the exterior”.
